June is Pride Month – dedicated to recognizing the LGBTQ+ community and its contributions to the world and raising awareness for the need to continue the fight for equal rights and recognition. The first Pride parades and festivals in the US which were organized in 1970 to commemorate the Stonewall Riots in June of 1969 when the LGBTQ+ community rose up in protest of a violent police raid of the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village. These demonstrations were one of the defining moments of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. In support of our LGBTQ+ friends and family, we have identified these organizations to highlight in our fund.
